Who we are

Busy Child Company operates Busy Child, a guide to soft plays and toddler cafés in Essex and Suffolk. We are responsible for the personal information you provide to us.

For questions or privacy requests, email busychildcompany@gmail.com.

Information we use

Venue information in this guide is gathered from publicly available sources such as Google, from suggestions submitted through our form, and from direct contact with the venues themselves.

Busy Child Company is an independent third-party directory and is not affiliated with, nor does it operate, any of the venues listed. We accept no responsibility or liability for the venues, their facilities, services, safety or conduct. While we aim to keep listings accurate and up to date, details such as opening times, prices and facilities may change, so please confirm directly with the venue before visiting.

Please do not include children’s personal information or sensitive personal details in suggestions or messages.

Why we use it

We rely on our legitimate interests in maintaining accurate venue listings, responding to enquiries and keeping the service secure. We may retain information where required by law. Optional Google Analytics measurement relies on your consent, which you can withdraw through Cookie choices at any time.

Storage and other services

Lovable Cloud provides hosting, account services and storage. Contact emails are handled through Gmail. We restrict access to private suggestions and account information.

The map on the List page loads its tiles from CARTO, which uses OpenStreetMap map data. Fonts load from Google Fonts. These services receive connection details such as your IP address when your browser contacts them. External venue websites have their own privacy policies.

Service providers may process information outside the UK. Applicable data-protection requirements and safeguards must be considered when using these services.

Google Analytics is provided by Google and may process information outside the UK. Advertising storage and personalisation are disabled in our tracking setup. See Google’s privacy policy for how Google handles information.

Browser storage and retention

Google Analytics loads only after you choose Accept analytics. It may set _ga and _ga_* cookies to distinguish visits, typically lasting up to two years. Rejecting analytics does not affect browsing. We store your cookie choice on this device for 180 days. Use Cookie choices at the bottom of any page to change it; withdrawing consent stops our tracking and clears accessible Google Analytics cookies for this site.

The app does not add advertising trackers or marketing cookies. Any future advertising or notification features will need an updated privacy notice and consent where required.

We keep personal information only for as long as needed to handle suggestions, enquiries or legal requirements. You can contact us to request deletion. Public venue information may remain in the guide after a suggestion has been reviewed.

Your rights

Under UK data-protection law, you may request access, correction or deletion of your information, or restriction of its use; you may also object to processing based on legitimate interests. Portability and withdrawal of consent apply where relevant. These rights are subject to legal conditions.

Contact us using the email above. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
